Health Innovation Hub: Collaborative Innovation Branch

Dip your toes

The Collaborative Innovation Branch (CI), at BC Ministry of Health, enables and inspire ministry teams and individual employees to use collaborative innovation methods in policy and program development. CI offers project partnership services (including process design and facilitation), coaching and consultation, curated resources, and a Community of Practice. They promote a range of innovative methodologies to do our work, including human centered design, liberating structures, and systems thinking.

My contributions

I joined CI as a service and systemic designer and facilitator and I supported several ministry projects and initiatives through:

  • Creating project plans, engagement plans and facilitating engagement sessions

  • Designing processes and tools for facilitating engagement discussions

  • Adjusting innovation tools such as user journey mapping, systems mapping, service blueprint, etc. based on project needs

  • Refining branch plan through systemic change making perspective, identifying barriers to the branch plan and ideating solutions

Design deliverables
  • Design tools such as service blue print and card sorting material for events

  • Participant documentation tools

  • Survey designs

  • Workshop designs and facilitation
